Skin Lesion Removal
Skin Lesion Removal involves the removal of skin lesions using CRYOPEN freezing technology or electrolysis treatment.
Cryotherapy
During this treatment, the clinician uses a small pen-shaped device called a CRYOPEN, which uses nitrous oxide (N₂O) to rapidly cool the skin lesion. This causes the lesion to freeze, scab and naturally fall off over the coming days or weeks.
Electrolysis
Skin tag removal by electrolysis uses a small electrical current to safely remove skin tags. A fine probe delivers controlled heat to destroy the tissue at the base of the skin tag. This stops its blood supply, causing it to dry and fall off naturally. The treatment is quick, precise and performed with minimal discomfort. Healing is fast, with little to no downtime.
Skin tags, also known as acrochordons, are tiny, benign growths that commonly appear on the skin. Formed by collagen and blood vessels surrounded by skin, skin tags are often found in regions where the skin rubs against itself or clothing, such as the neck, armpits, groin and under the breasts. While the exact cause of skin tags is not fully understood, they are more prevalent in individuals who are overweight, pregnant or have diabetes. Skin tags are typically harmless and painless, but some people opt to remove them for cosmetic reasons or if they become irritated. If you are concerned about a skin tag or considering removal, then cryotherapy may be suitable for you.
Seborrheic keratosis is a common non-cancerous skin growth that appears as wart-like or slightly elevated lesions on the skin. These growths are typically brown, black, or light tan in colour and have a waxy, scaly or slightly elevated surface. Seborrheic keratosis develop due to an overgrowth of keratinocytes, the skin cells that produce keratin. While the exact cause of seborrheic keratosis is not fully understood, they are more common in older adults and their prevalence increases with age. These growths are typically found on areas of the body with frequent sun exposure, such as the face, chest, back and shoulders.
Cherry angiomas are common skin growths made up of clusters of small blood vessels. These growths typically appear as smooth, cherry-red bumps on the skin and can vary in size. The exact cause of cherry angiomas is not fully understood, but they are believed to be related to aging and genetics. These benign growths are usually harmless and rarely cause any symptoms, although they can bleed if scratched or injured. Cherry angiomas are more common in individuals over the age of 30 and tend to increase in number as a person gets older. While they do not require treatment, some individuals may opt to have them removed for cosmetic reasons or if they bleed frequently.
Actinic keratosis (AK) is a common skin condition characterized by rough, scaly patches or lesions that develop on sun-exposed areas like the face, hands and forearms. These precancerous growths are often a result of prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun or artificial sources like tanning beds. The damaged skin cells fail to properly repair themselves, leading to the accumulation of abnormal layers that manifest as rough, sandpapery spots. Regular sun protection are key in managing and preventing the development of actinic keratosis.
Solar lentigos, commonly known as age spots or liver spots are small, flat, pigmented patches that appear on the skin due to prolonged exposure to the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays. These spots are typically light brown to dark in colour and can vary in size. Solar lentigos develop as a result of the skin's natural defence mechanism against UV damage. When the skin is exposed to excessive sunlight, it produces melanin to protect itself from further harm. Over time, this leads to the formation of concentrated areas of pigmentation, resulting in the characteristic appearance of solar lentigos. While these spots are benign and generally harmless, they are often considered a visible sign of skin aging and cumulative sun damage.

Electrolysis (Advanced Electrolysis) effectively removes various benign skin lesions like skin tags, milia, blood spots and some warts by using a fine probe to deliver a small electrical current, cauterizing the blood supply or tissue, causing the blemish to dry up and fall off.
